Description: REVEL 2005 Seagoing Mentor, Instruction Manager, American Museum of Natural History, New York
Dave Randle is the sea-going mentor for the REVEL teachers on the VISIONS’05 cruise. He first sailed with REVEL in 1998 on an expedition that successfully brought back four large pieces of sulfide chimneys from the same segment of mid-ocean ridge that this cruise will be studying. Dave spent fifteen years teaching middle and high school science in the New York City public schools. He currently works at the American Museum of Natural History doing professional development for teachers. His primary responsibility is the instructional management of the Seminars on Science suite of online courses. During this cruise Dave hopes to strengthen the ties between the scientific and education communities and to facilitate the dissemination of this exciting science into classrooms across the country.
