Drill sled mounted on ROV Jason 2. Four barrels mounted showing a close up of a reamer bit designed to cut a 2.85"
hole and to collect an ~ 1" core. Diamond cutters
on the aft portion of the bit continue to cut rock as
the bit is withdrawn from the holes, allowing very
clean holes to be drilled. Holes up to 21" were cut
in sulfide in 15-20 minutes, and in basalts in 2-3
hours.
